    Position Purpose - APRN

    As a member of the Treatment Team, the Advanced Practical Registered Nurse (APRN) is responsible for coordination of medical services and oversees the medical and psychiatric management of the patient coordination with the attending physician and provides input into the development of treatment plans.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Ensures appropriateness of initial patient admissions and continued patient care
    • Obtains and completes the history of present illness and reviews past histories and evaluations
    • Assists patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, obtaining ,updating and studying medical histories
    • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory studies and interpreting test results
    • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
    • Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations, suturing, managing wounds and infections
    • Instructs and counsels patients b y describing therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance
    • Provides after hours on-call coverage to coordinate any emergency medical need responses for facility patients, as needed.
    Required qualifications:
    • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing
    • Active Florida Licensed as Physician Assistant
    • Current CPR Certification
    • Proof of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training
    • Previous work with substance use disorders preferred
    • Knowledge of addiction and recovery preferred
    • Knowledge of drug classifications and respective medication protocol
