    We are looking to hire a Portfolio Reconciliation Analyst to work for an investment firm based in Oak Brook, IL. The Analyst ensures accurate and timely cash transactions and balances within the company's internal portfolio accounting system. The role includes the reconciliation of holdings, transactions, security prices, and characteristics to ensure accurate appraisal and performance calculations. Manages any discrepancies and exceptions through research, documentation and resolution working with external custodians and vendors as well as internal teams. Communicates with Portfolio Management, Client Service, Legal, and other internal departments to resolve ad hoc inquiries.

    The Portfolio Reconciliation department works a hybrid schedule, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the Oakbrook Terrace office. The team works collectively to provide service to clients worldwide.

    Salary: $55K to $70K (based on experience)

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Portfolio Accounting:

    • Input and verify cash transactions through the portfolio accounting system
    • Support the maintenance of securities and prices to ensure accurate characteristics and prices for accurate appraisal and performance calculations
    • Generate standard and ad hoc reports as needed to meet internal and external requests
    • Provide support in monitoring the flow of trade detail data received from the trading desks who work with counter parties regarding settlement details. Ensure that all trade data is transformed into the accounting system and trade details are reported to custodians as needed.

    Custodian bank reconciliation:

    • Complete timely reconciliation of holdings and transactions between the various systems and custodian banks. Maintain accurate records of discrepancies and resolution.
    • Through the use of various systems, generate reconciliation reports for internal and external use

    Vendor, industry relationships:

    • Handle relationships with vendors, custodians and other institutions to improve quality of service and in order to stay on top of recent changes in the industry markets

    Qualifications & Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
    • 2+ years of experience in the investment management industry
    • Strong interest in investment management, securities operations and portfolio accounting
    • Knowledge of fixed income and equity securities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to manage a high volume of email
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote/hybrid environment
