    Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking a Medical Case Specialist to support our Veteran Affairs Operations.

    What part would you play in this role?

    As a Medical Case Specialist, you will support our Veterans Affairs Operations by assisting veterans coordinate and schedule required medical examinations used in the evaluation process for VA disability benefits.

    In this rewarding role, you will:

    • Required to make specific amount of daily outbound calls to schedule appointments for examinees, including follow-up appointments and rescheduled appointments while maintaining customer satisfaction standards.
    • Communicate directly with claimants.
    • Triage daily download of referrals and ensure appropriate worksheets are assigned to corresponding conditions as identified by Veteran's Administration
    • Determine appropriate examinations, tests and specialists required for each case.
    • Meet or exceed contract timeliness guidelines in both the scheduling and case management systems.
    • Ensure all examinees and providers receive necessary documentation.
    • Other projects and duties as assigned.

    You must have:

    • High School diploma, or equivalent (GED) or 2 years of experience in lieu
    • 0 to 1 years of related experience

    Preferred:

    • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
    • Experience coordinating appointments for patients.
    • Proficiency in utilizing various computer applications (i.e. MS Office), EMRs and other scheduling software.
    • Highly skilled in multi-tasking while managing multiple priorities.

    Typical Day:

    • Training Schedule (1st 2 weeks): Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
    • 3rd week Schedule: Sunday - 8:00 am - 6:30 pm, Monday - Wednesday - 8:00 am - 7:00 pm (1 hour lunch)
    • Anticipate up to 1 month of onsite training.
    • After completion of training the position will be Remote.
    • Onsite location - Chisholm Admin Buildng - 4400 N.W. Loop 410 Ste 500, San Antonio, TX 78229
    • Remote - Sunday - 8:00 am - 6:30 pm, Monday - Wednesday - 8:00 am - 7:00 pm (1 hour lunch)

    Pay:

    Starting pay: $17.20

    $2.00 Differential for working AWW schedule (Sunday - Wednesday)

    Experience

    Required
    • Less than 1 year(s): Experience in healthcare, medical, or insurance related industries
    Preferred
    • Direct healthcare experience in medical case management or quality assurance to include the review of complex multi-focal medical reports for quality, clarity, thoroughness and insightful medical explanation
    • Experience with electronic medical scheduling and case management software
