    Job Summary:

    A General Nursing LPN position is available at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

    The LPN will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment providing care to variable patient populations.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work cohesively with colleagues, and possess knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.

    About the Role:

    • Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
    • Carry out assigned patient care based on the patients' conditions.
    • Recognize, report, and record relevant patient information.
    • Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous).
    • Observe for physical and/or emotional changes in patient's condition from prescribed medications/treatments.
    • Promote whole health initiatives to include but not limited to: Tele-MOVE, Guided Imagery.
    • Participate in daily huddles and secure messaging within scope.

    Requirements:

    • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
    • Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
    • Full, active, current and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (Puerto Rico) of the United States, or District of Columbia.

    Preferred Experience:

    • 1 year ambulatory or clinic experience as a LPN; possess communication skills and customer service etiquettes.

    Work Schedule:

    Varying tours, some tours may include alternating weekends.
