Job summary

The incumbent of the vacancy will perform electrical work including planning and laying out of work and diagnosis of trouble in electrical systems or equipment. The job duties include performing journeyman level electrical duties working knowledge of methods materials tools and equipment used in electrical trade repairing maintaining and installing electrical systems and equipment located determining malfunctions using test instruments such as ammeter volt meter and ohmmeter plans new or modifies installations consistent with specifications national electrical code reads interprets plans codes diagrams architectural blueprints specifications tests adjusts calibrates maintains control equipment performs maintenance preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment trains supervises others ability to climb ladders work from scaffolding mechanical lifts.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of methods material tools and equipment used in the craft or crafts to which assigned.
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards plumbing electrical code regulations.
  • Ability to use tools machines equipment material craft or crafts assigned train supervise others plan lay out work diagnose problems read interpret plans diagrams architectural blueprints specifications understand carry written oral instructions.
