Job description
The Journeyman should be a Plumber, Steamfitter, Pipe Fitter, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Fitter or Pipe Fitter Welder who has been engaged at the trade for at least five (5) years. The Journeyman will be responsible for performing journey-level mechanical duties in the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel, battery, and electric equipment.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Break fix of all Electro-mechanical systems (HVAC, Hydronics, Appliances, Rollup doors, dock locks, air compressors, etc.)
- Spill and Leak Detection system inspections/repairs
- Hydronic rack cooling (Deschutes) maintenance and commissioning
- PMs on HVAC and Hydronic systems (Pumps, Strainers,Cooling Towers, etc.)
- Team scheduling and material requisition
- Contribute to site failure reporting (Equipment Status Log)
- Mechanical project support
- Clean In Place on heat exchangers
- Chiller tube inspections and cleaning
- Site plumbing maintenance/repair
- Eyewash stations/Shower maintenance
- Forklift maintenance
- Gas valve PMs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least five (5) years of experience in the trade
- Unlimited Mechanical or Contractor's license (required)
- Formal training in approved vocational schools in the fundamentals of the trade
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required for working effectively with Account Director, team members, vendors, and customers on daily data center operations
- Exceptional written technical proficiency to support the creation and revision of process documentation (MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs) and other relevant business documents and correspondences
- Above average problem-solving and analytical skills for evaluating a situation, identifying solutions, and working with leadership and teammates to resolve
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fluid environment
- Embraces a team-based mentality by building positive morale and team spirit, supporting teammates efforts to succeed, and recognizing teammates accomplishments
- Able to function effectively and maintain focus in high-pressure situations
- Has a "can-do" customer service attitude who is conscientious and takes personal pride in their work
- Has high degree of attention to detail and completes tasks on time
- Able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and volunteer readily when asked
- Able to handle changing needs and priorities accurately and professionally
- Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical manuals, drawings, and sketches
- Able to work proficiently and safely with hand tools and power tools

- Ability to reach, grasp, push, pull, handle, feel, and type with both hands and arms
- Ability to smell, talk and hear
- Ability to see at close and distance ranges and the ability to see and correctly distinguish color
- Ability to lift equipment in small spaces without mechanical assistance, weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work inside and outside
