Role Overview
Ascenteum is seeking an Investment Allocation Analyst to support its investment management activities. The ideal candidate will work independently while collaborating closely with Portfolio Managers and the Trade Operations team.
The role focuses on allocating newly purchased securities across subsidiaries and product lines, ensuring allocations are accurate, timely, and aligned with portfolio management objectives.
This position provides hands‑on experience with investment allocation tools, trade management systems, and fixed income investment processes. It is well suited for someone analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.About the Team
Ascenteum's Investment Management function oversees a large, diversified investment portfolio and supports asset‑liability management, portfolio construction, and oversight of internal and external asset managers.
Within this function, the Quant R&D group develops ALM analytics, asset modelling, advanced analytics, and provides operational continuity for Quantitative and Fixed Income Portfolio Management.
The GIA & VA Asset Modeling & Development team is responsible for modelling assets, supporting portfolio‑critical operations, generating ALM pricing and risk analytics, and coordinating regulatory and internal reporting across Enterprise Risk, Corporate Finance, Actuarial, and other stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesAllocate newly purchased securities across subsidiaries and product lines.
Monitor trade activity and ensure allocations align with portfolio management objectives.
Coordinate upcoming allocations with asset managers and the investment onboarding team.
Share investment details with Portfolio Managers and gather allocation preferences.
Automate and improve existing allocation workflows and reporting processes.
Partner with IT to validate new system functionality and conduct regression testing.
Support accurate investment tracking and operational continuity.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Familiarity with fixed income securities.
Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong independent work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Ideal Qualifications
Working knowledge of public and private fixed income instruments, including:
Corporate bonds
Mortgages
Asset‑backed securities
Bank loans
Collateralised loan obligations (CLOs)
Experience building and maintaining Excel workbooks; VBA Macros a plus.
Strong ownership mindset and accountability for deliverables.
Curiosity and sound judgement in ambiguous situations.
2+ years of relevant experience
in investments, trade operations, or financial analysis.
