Job description
Larkin Community Hospital South Miami Campus is currently seeking a Intervention Radiology Technologist. Must be able to performs all phases of interventional radiologic examinations on adult patients in the IR suite in accordance with the values, and mission of the organization. Incumbent must possess independent judgement, initiative, good patient care and a team player.
Position Details:
Full-Time
Monday-Friday from 7:30 am till 4:00 pm
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Assists physician with performing diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures (utilizing surgical sterile technique). Reviews results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
- Prepares equipment and supplies including sterile trays. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Assists with clerical and non-technical duties necessary to department operations, such as documenting procedures into department/hospital information systems, as per departmental policy, recording billing, editing and statistical information in radiology information system
- Post-processing and archiving of images to PACS
- Maintaining and cleaning patient care equipment per infection control standards and evaluating inventory levels, to ensure par level of stock, suitable for the needs of division.
- Demonstrate the ability to cover call by performing all functions required after hours.
Qualifications:
- STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR: Acts in a manner that supports the standards of communication, respect, privacy, and teamwork by demonstrating a commitment to professional and ethical conduct
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiology Tech
- Certified Radiologic Technologist
- Licensed in Interventional Radiology Preferred
- BLS Certification
- Graduate of an AMA approved accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Must be able to do a regular on call schedule and work irregular shifts if needed
- Must be able to respond to emergent and unexpected situation
