Position Overview: An OT Hand Therapist provides non-operative intervention, preventative care, and post-surgical rehabilitation for a wide variety of upper extremity disorders. Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Complete assessment to ensure quality standards and outstanding patient care
• Evaluate areas that require attention. Use appropriate clinical techniques and tools and establishes individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Provides therapy interventions using appropriate treatment protocols and techniques
• Establish individualized care and discharge plans and ensure plans are communicated to appropriate parties.
• Document intervention and strategies for treatment in required organizational systems. Documentation includes assessment, measurable criteria, goals, method of treatment, home program, and plan
• Adapts plan according to patient's response to intervention.
• Provide home programs and other educational information to patients and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention
• Utilizes current research to analyze and improve clinical skills and decision making
• Coordinate patient care programs with the treatment team to facilitate and enhance functional outcomes
• Assist in the review of program quality and development of procedures and protocols for superior patient care
• Constant contact and open dialogue with Therapy Admin, Director, and Physicians regarding scheduling, policy changes, personnel issues, equipment, and patient care
• Assists in clinical and administrative decisions to best optimize clinic function
• Protection of confidential data
• Economic use of time, equipment, and supplies; safety and welfare of patients and other employees
• Supervises assigned assistants.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy School; Occupational Therapy Licenses
• Previous experience preferred

Other Requirements:

• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, knowledge of health insurance industry practices and/or medical billing procedures.
• Consistently projects a professional image through attire, conduct, personal grooming, and overall attitude
• Experience with medical scheduling/billing systems preferred.
• Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills
• Proficiency in electronic records systems is preferred. Must have strong data entry skills.
• Must be able to complete tasks with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions.
• Must demonstrate the ability to analyze data and resolve complex problems.
• Must have the ability to work independently while managing time and workload appropriately.
• Must be able to travel to all clinic locations and work overtime hours as needed.
