    The Tennyson Center for Children is looking for our newest addition to our Tennyson family. This role will be responsible for working in a team effort to provide full-service dietary operation, providing nutritional and appealing meals to clients, staff, and guests. Primary duties include but are not limited to: daily preparation and serving of meals, following standardized recipes and food handling techniques. Responsible for maintaining a secure, safe, and healthy environment throughout the agency to meet all health and licensing regulations.

    Current available shifts include:

    • This position will be 4 days with 10 hour shifts
    • Sunday to Wednesday, 10 am to 8 pm

    Essential Job Functions

    • Responsible for preparation, cooking, and serving of designated meals, working with standardized recipes within defined standards of sanitation.
    • Clean up duties after meals.
    • Preparation of agency meals.
    • Assist team in clean up duties after meals.
    • Assist in preparation of agency baked goods.
    • Responsible for assisting in ordering of food and supplies, and in stocking food storage area, refrigerator and freezer.
    • Fulfilling residential food requisitions in collaboration with residential professional staff.
    • Provide dietary department support for Agency special events, as needed.
    • Maintain kitchen operations, equipment, and utensils in accordance with Department of Health and USDA sanitation standards. Operate machinery and use tools and utensils in a safe manner at all times.
    • Ensure customer service and satisfaction by conducting work in a serviceable manner to the agency, being responsive to the staff and children's needs.
    • Operate dish washing machinery as needed to ensure clean and sanitary dishes.
    • Respect racial, ethnic and cultural differences of all clients and staff.
    • Other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Vocational training in food service and experience with USDA breakfast and school lunch program preferred.
    • At least 1 year experience in quantity food service cooking required.
    • Must have (or qualify to obtain) a valid Colorado driver's license and a Food Handler's Card.
