    Overview

    Offer safe and effective massage therapy to meet the needs of patients or employees.

    Perform massage that relates to the needs of the referred patients or employees and meets the standards of the profession.

    Develop a successful working relationship with all Rehabilitation, Wellness Department, and LifeStyle Center services personnel to promote a unified objective of reaching individual health and wellness goals.

    Responsibilities


    Participates in creating, maintaining and expanding a successful massage therapy program to supplement and enhance patient care, health, and wellness programming Travel and set up on-time at the offsite events and locations Demonstrates muscle specific strokes to achieve specific physical and physiological responses.

    Demonstrates professional competency with proper techniques and skills in massage therapy. Demonstrates proper progression of massage techniques to achieve desired results.

    Performs proper draping to ensure privacy and comfort for clients Provides written and oral education regarding massage therapy and related topics as needed formally and informally Maintains massage therapy licensure with adherence to current state regulations.

    Maintains professional affiliations. Maintains current CPR certifications.

    Researches and maintains knowledge of contraindications with massage Maintain documentation on all clients according to Cone Health and NC Board of Massage and BodyWork Therapy.

    Responsible for reviewing all paperwork with clients.

    b) Assists in maintenance of massage areas and leaves massage area clean and presentable Keeps supervisor thoroughly informed of work-related activities and information on a timely basis and provides reports and requested data for as appropriate with attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness Assists Wellness Coordinator with marketing, promotion and special projects as needed including but not limited to public speaking engagements and radio and/or TV interviews (both live and taped).

    Participates in intra-departmental projects and committees within the Wellness as appropriate for the growth of the division

    Qualifications


    EDUCATION:

    Required:

    Successful completion of a course of study in the field of massage and bodywork therapy consisting of a minimum of 500 in-class hours of supervised instruction at a Board-approved school or an exempted North Carolina Community College program which has attested to the board their massage therapy program meets or exceeds the minimum requirements.


    EXPERIENCE:

    Required:
    At least one (1) year of experience working in a corporate, multi-purposed, commercial or hospital-based facility is preferred.

    LISTING:
    REQUIREDDrivers License | Valid Drivers LicenseBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Required:
    Licensure as a LMBT.

    Along with licensure to practice, passing of one of the following can also be accepted:

    MBLEx, National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB), or National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage (NCETM).If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
