Server and Computer Platform Engineer:

IC-CAP is seeking a qualified and experienced Linux/Unix Engineer with extensive in Unix, Linux Administrator, and design, build and implement Linux/Unix OS images and Next Generation of UNIX/Linux servers, the operating systems software, and its successful integration with the hardware and applications software of the major computing systems across the organization.

Plans, tests, installs, and integrates new and upgraded versions of the relevant OS (Unix/Linux) systems.

Guidance: Provides experts guidance and direction to Government and Vendor senior level technicians and managers. Directs multiple contractor and subcontractors teams through project completion.


Job Description:

• Conducts system security engineering activities (Linux/Unix Focused). Install, monitor and tune Linux/Unix Server operating system software and virtual machine subsystem software to obtain ATO (Authorize to Operate) for new image build.
• Capture and refine client requirements and ensures that the requirements are effectively integrated into information technology component products and information systems through purposeful design, development, and configuration.
• Employ best practices when implementing patch management / vulnerability management in the Linux construct.
• Perform research, analysis, and design for all Linux/Unix computing systems and the network infrastructure.
• Develop, implement, and document formal configuration guides as needed.
• Provide security controls and maintain necessary network/data separation
• Ensure that essential services are installed on supported versions of OS and keep the versions of the services themselves up to date.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience with DoD systems.
• Experience with DoD vulnerability analysis and Industry Best Business Practices.
• Quick learner, able to learn new software and technologies.
• Must have strong experience with Linux/Unix and Unix shell scripting (5+ years).
• Redhat Enterprise Linux (Physical and Virtual (VMware) Environment).
• Solaris (Physical and Virtual (VMware) Environment).
• Must have strong Redhat Satellite Server and Ansible experience
• Experience in standing up new services and tools on virtual machines within a Linux environment.
• Experience with Gitlab, Docker, and repo mirrors.
• Experience with Python. PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
• Familiar with VMware ESXi and VSphere.
• Familiar with virtualization network on multiple classifications.

Education and Experience:

• BS in Computer Science / System Engineering (or related career field)

Training and Certifications:

• IAT Level 2
• Security+ required

Security Clearance:

• Must Possess Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance and pass CI Polygraph
