    JOB DESCRIPTIONAs an employee of NOV's Springett Technology Center ('STC'), you have the opportunity to be on the front lines of innovation.

    The purpose of this facility is to support new product development by testing NOV's new technologies and products before they are commercialized and deployed to customers.

    We do this by installing and running these new product designs, whether it be on NOV's only live-drilling test rig, 20,000' long, above ground simulated lateral well, 500-barrel water and oil processing test pad or future testing platforms that have yet to be developed.

    It is because of our state-of-the-art facility that NOV goes above and beyond to push the limits of innovation and design.

    STC is currently recruiting for a Control Systems Engineer to join our team that has the drive to help expand the facilities testing capabilities and support the existing test equipment.

    The Control Systems Engineer must coordinate across NOV business segments, with an understanding of the engineering and testing requirements for each segment.

    The Control Systems Engineer must be able to design solutions to meet the testing requirements or validate feasibility of test systems of each NOV business segment, provide upgrades to existing testing equipment, and support day to day operations as required.


    Duties & Responsibilities:
    Performs engineering activities involving design and/or redesign of testing equipment control systems.
    Oversee internal and external test teams' projects to ensure compatibility with existing control systems.
    Implementing and/or supervise design by PLC, SBC and HMI programming and configuring hardware/software.
    Perform and/or supervise creation, release, and management of engineering design documents such as Bill of Materials (BoM) and drawings.

    Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with established policies, standards, and objectives; establishes and/or updates engineering standards and specifications as needed.

    Manages engineering projects, and ensure projects meet design specifications and are completed on time and within budget.
    Coordinate with and manage contractors during bidding, design and/or construction of projects.
    Provide technical support for testing and facility operations including troubleshooting issues that may arise.
    Perform other duties as required by management.
    Comply with all NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer engineering or computer science is required.

    Minimum 5 years of design experience with oil and gas surface equipment, drilling rigs or other heavy industrial equipment is required.

    Proficient in SBC, PLC, and HMI programming and troubleshooting.
    Experience in hardware BoM creation.
    Knowledgeable in field instrumentation (strain gauges, actuators, level transmitters, etc.)Proficient in programming such as Python, JavaScript, C, C#, etc.
    Experience in 2D modeling software such as AutoCADStrong Knowledge of IoT and Industry 4.0 and the related networking equipment.
    PMP or Project Management experience is a plus.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Ability to communicate effectively and oversee multiple projects is essential.
    Demonstrated ability to be a team player and work with multiple engineering disciplines both within the company and externally.
    Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
    Occasional weekend work may be required.
    Enjoys hands-on approach to engineering and working outdoors.
    Self-driven individual with the desire to win as a team.
