    Position: Manager, Accounting (Fiscal Services Unit)

    Location: Hayward Office

    Hours: Full-Time (8:30 am to 5:00 pm),

    Hybrid Work Schedule

    Work Week: 37.5 hours

    Start Date: ASAP

    Salary: Exempt $95,353-$100,372/year DOE

    Community Child Care Council (4Cs) of Alameda County is a nonprofit organization serving families and child care providers in Alameda County. 4Cs of Alameda County exists to develop and coordinate resources for families and children.

    The Manager, Accounting is responsible for aiding the Chief Financial Officer with the financial activities concerning the Agency. The Manager, Accounting coordinates job duties and responsibilities with the Chief Financial Officer. The Manager, Accounting is responsible for supervision of the Sr. Accountant, Accountant I and the Supervisor, Accounts Payable and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This is an exempt position.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (examples: monthly program cost reports for funders, internal statistical data for budget monitoring purposes, and annual reports for external auditors).

    Manages accounting operations of the agency including budgeting, auditing, payroll, AP, AR, general ledger, and financial reporting. Oversees development and implementation of financial systems.

    Supervision, schedule, training and development, performance appraisals for fiscal unit staff.

    Coordinates and preparers for annual and other audits.

    Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

    Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

    Ensure tracking of Fixed Assets.

    Provides status of financial condition by collecting and reporting financial data.

    Prepares and develops budgets in accordance with contracts and analyzes data with recommendations.

    Conducts analytical review of financial information monthly and initiates corrective actions to achieve budget objectives.

    Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits, providing, and coordinating information to external auditors.

    Complies with all financial federal, state, and local legal requirements, including contract requirements. Advises management on needed actions.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Bachelors degree in accounting plus minimum of three-year experience in responsible accounting field desired (Nonprofit accounting preferred).

    Must have excellent supervisory skills (minimum of 3 years)

    Must have a minimum of 3 years firsthand experience in Payroll, Accounts Payable and General Ledger

    Must be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines

    Good organizational and communication skills

    PC computer literate, preferably with Excel and Word

    Must have excellent spreadsheet skills

    Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
