Job Description

Free People is seeking a Senior Designer to lead the development process of design projects supporting the Femmes Knits category.

Role Responsibilities:

Lead the design creation, development, and execution of own-brand products for Free People knits tops with a focus on Femmes sensibilities.
Recognize and forecast fashion and cultural trends, understanding their relation to the Free People customer.
Respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions.
Attend all fittings and support the team in problem-solving fit issues and communication.
Manage seasonal development calendars for both Retail & Wholesale deliveries.
Develop and execute design packages alongside Assistant Designers and participate in follow-up communication related to each package.
Maintain strong initiative and point of view on design research and staying up-to-date with industry trend direction, color direction, and fabric innovations.
Execute original design ideas through draped & sewn mocks to communicate designs vision in key meetings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design with 8-10 years or commensurate experience preferred.
Creative & Trend Vision: demonstrated strength in pushing new ideas, silhouettes, and design concepts.
Knits Knowledge: strong understanding of knit fabrications, washes, and finishes, and technical ability to apply that knowledge to fits.
Excellent hand sketching and CAD skills in Procreate, Photoshop, Illustrator.
Strong organizational skills and passion for fast-paced environments.
Proficient in Microsoft platforms (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to be on-site 4-5 days a week in Philadelphia, PA.
