- Support the quality and manufacturing engineering initiative to:
- Advance WinSPC implementation at point of use. Work with an engineer to develop or implement procedures/methods to analyze data, evaluating machine/process capability and identify opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new gaging and inspection strategies, improving inspection efficiency and throughput.
- Support root cause investigations on any internal or external non-conformances. This may include 5 Why, PFMEA, or other similar methodologies to find the true root cause of problem.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers, Team Leaders, and Business units to implement effective corrective actions addressing process deficiencies.
- Demonstrate understanding of standard manufacturing operations and regulatory compliance, FDA and ISO regulations, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) requirements, and standard problem-solving techniques.
- Enrolled student attending a college or university and currently a Junior or Senior
- Undergraduate student majoring in one of following core engineering/applied sciences disciplines (Biomedical, Biotechnology, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Physics, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research)
- Interest in a medical device technology company
- Experience in laboratory or cleanroom environment
- Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2024 in Riviera Beach, Florida
- Understanding of root cause analysis and SPC/statistical methods
- Analytical problem-solving and data analysis skills
- The ability to learn new process control tools quickly

- PC Literacy, windows operations system, Microsoft office (work, excel, outlook, PowerPoint)
- Medical device, Aerospace or defense experience is preferred but not required.
- Understanding of medical device QMS and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to FDA CFR 21 820, ISO13485, ISO9001, preferred.
- Previous internship experience in a manufacturing environment is useful, but not necessary.
- Bilingual English and Spanish, capable of fluent business conversations (English 80% and over) useful, but not required.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance and Operations teams partner to strive for operational excellence with focus on total integrated product quality.
This internship offers the opportunity to see not only how the different technical classes are applied in a manufacturing and engineering business but also an opportunity to gain a holistic view on business operations. Toward the end of the internship, we ask interns to give a presentation summarizing competencies and suggesting improvements that they may have identified during the internship.
