Corporate Accounting Manager

Summary

National Life Group is looking for an experienced professional to join and manage our Corporate Accounting team in one of the fastest growing life insurance companies in the country. National Life Group currently has an opening for a Corporate Accounting Manager that reports directly to the Controller and works closely with our business partners throughout Finance. This position offers exposure to a variety of legal entities and functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, and coaching as needed.
• Manage the company's day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, fixed assets, accrual process, lease accounting, purchasing, and concur expense reimbursement.
• Reviewing disbursements to vendors, tax authorities, and employees.
• Participation in financial close process reviewing accruals, review of reconciliations, and analyzing results.
• Oversight of blackline reconciliation and balance sheet reporting.
• Approve journal entries.
• Communication with management, internal and external auditors.
• Provide support to business areas researching accounting.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 7+ years of relevant experience
• Supervisory experience leading accounting professionals.
• Must have a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• FINRA SIE and Series 99 strongly preferred or ability to obtain FINRA SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) and FINRA Series 99 (Operations Professional) designations within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently, within time constraints and reporting deadlines.
• Drive efficiency through automation and streamlining of accounting processes.

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.

Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
