    Job Description

    The Tire Technician's primary responsibilities include performing all warranty and non-warranty inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work of tires. It is Tire Technician's responsibility to comply with all policies and repair procedures as set forth by MBUSA, and to notify the Shop Foreman or Management of any and all exceptions. Customer satisfaction is a direct reflection of your personal work habits and ethics. As a Tire Technician, the responsibility of customer satisfaction falls into the categories of completing the job correctly, cleanly, honestly, and on time for every service visit.

    Duties and Responsibilities


    • Primary duties involve the repair, analysis, dismount, and installation of tires on vehicles.


    • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, technical knowledge, and practical skills through the study of technical manuals and bulletins, classroom training, communication with factory service representatives and actual hands-on experience.


    • Quality check and/or road test the work performed on every vehicle with a repair.


    • Keep shop equipment in safe operating condition. This includes cleaning and returning special tools in good condition.


    • Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or its customers.


    • Maintain work areas to be free from trash, debris, old parts, clutter, spills, or any other unsightly or hazardous materials.


    • While working on any car, it must be kept clean and protected to the best possible manner; return all settings and stations to the customer's original preference.


    • All lot damage must be reported to management immediately.


    • Complete any and all training required by either the Dealership or MBUSA in a timely manner.


    • Follow all company rules, policies, and guidelines as outlined in the Employee handbook.

    Qualifications


    • High school diploma or the equivalent.


    • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.


    • Ability to confront and resolve difficult customer service situations.


    • Demonstrated customer service skills.


    • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.


    • General knowledge of automotive parts and vehicle mechanical operations.


    • Two years of experience in an automotive dealership.
