- 64-bed acute inpatient unit
- Responsibility for IOP/PHP oversight
- Serving an Adult and Geriatric client population
- Focus on Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment
- Specializing in acute interventions with short-term stays
- Engagement in joint ventures/professional collaborations among NHC, Tennova, and the University of Tennessee - Knoxville
- Manage and screen inquiries from referral sources
- Handle all admission-related documentation meticulously to facilitate provider decisions on hospital service suitability.
- Utilize medical information effectively during intake, including data input in EMR systems
- Ensure smooth and timely admissions by fostering communication with providers and nursing staff
- Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in computer operations

Knoxville Center for Behavioral Medicine is a facility that offers inpatient behavioral health services. Our center provides acute behavioral health care and outpatient treatment to adults and geriatric adults in crisis due to severe symptoms related to behavioral health and/or substance use disorder.
Are you a dedicated Intake/Admissions Specialist interested in contributing to the enhancement of behavioral health in your community? Consider our Intake Specialist opening at our new hospital and help us unite communities, healthcare providers, and families to enhance behavioral health, one patient at a time. We deliver psychiatric care to adult and geriatric patients in need of inpatient hospitalization for mental disorders such as cognitive illnesses.
As an Intake/Admissions Specialist, your role involves coordinating hospital admissions by maintaining relationships and effective communication with referral sources, providers, and nursing staff.
