    Job Description

    SCOPE OF POSITION
    The Corporate Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Antimicrobial Stewardship is responsible for a coordinated and efficient system-level initiative that ensures prophylactic, empirical, and therapeutic use of antimicrobial agents result in optimal patient outcomes. This pharmacy leader will ensure Ballad Health applies evidence-based care, driving appropriate prescribing, dispensing and administration of anti-infective and related agents, as well as the provision of appropriate patient monitoring.
    The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Antimicrobial Stewardship will serve as the primary drug information resource for infectious diseases questions. They will communicate at the highest professional level with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other professional staff and committees within the organization in order that they may effectively cultivate the trust of stakeholders, guide institutional thinking and behavior, and drive culture change.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy with an advanced pharmacy degree (e.g., Pharm.D.) and:
    • PGY-2 or fellowship in Infectious Diseases, or
    • PGY-1 with relevant work experience.
      Minimum of five (5) years of related experience, three (3) of which are in the acute care inpatient setting of a large hospital, and two (2) years as an Antimicrobial Stewardship pharmacist or with demonstrated experience in antimicrobial-related evidence assessment and/or health and quality improvement initiatives related to antimicrobial stewardship.
      Board-Certified Infectious Diseases Pharmacist (BCIDP) and/or completion of an Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate program (SIDP) preferred.
