    1 - First Shift

    Are you the type of leader who enjoys developing enterprise-wide vision for processes and standards? In this role you will lead activities within manufacturing that include developing talent, capital planning, project implementation, capacity planning, and setting the vision and direction for process and product improvements. We're looking for a people-focused leader who can effectively influence cross-functional groups across existing and emerging technologies.

    What You'll Do

    1. Define the company-wide vision for advanced processes that aligns with the organization's strategic plans. Evaluate needed advancements in processes and ensure internal skills, processes, and technologies are aligned to achieve the vision. Develop and implement process roadmaps and plan for development, partnership, or acquisition of resources to ensure roadmaps can be realized.
    2. Define, develop, and lead strategic engineering and research activities within the assigned area of responsibility. Define and maintain process and technology developments, standards, and guidelines for assigned engineering groups.
    3. Ensure on-time project launches that meet standards and meet or exceed customer expectations. Coordinate with purchasing, manufacturing, quality assurance, and other departments required for assuring the successful launch of the process or project. Ensure ease of use by coordinating and collaborating with the necessary departments and individuals.
    4. Establish a culture of continuous improvement and lean process development. Define the vision for improving existing processes that align with the organization's strategic plan. Define needed skills, training, talent acquisition and organizational structure to align internal staff with needed competencies.
    5. Define and implement an outsource plan to augment internal staff with partnerships as necessary.

    What We're Looking For

    • 4-year college degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Agricultural or other relevant Engineering, IT, or Computer Science required.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or equivalent business leadership role.
    • Experience managing others and lean manufacturing required. Multi-disciplinary business experience preferred (product, design, etc.).
    • Ability to think tactically and strategically to drive business success. Knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, and the strategic planning processes; ability to operate within targeted budget.
    • Ability to develop reliable, high performing manufacturing processes that provide competitive solutions and are financially successfully utilizing CI, JIT and lean principles to drive improvement and processes.
    • Ability to lead a cross-functional team in an Agile process management/project management environment to drive projects in support of performance measures, including gross margin, market share, sales, reliability and customer goals.
    • Knowledge of software solutions including industrial controls, connected processes (IoT), data analytics, process development and deployment best practices, and life cycle support.
    • Ability to influence others without formal authority. Partners well across functions and groups in all areas of the business while effectively discussing and negotiating areas of concern.

    Travel

    • Occasional travel is expected of this position.

    ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
