- Operates grinding machines to assemble products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications.
- Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments to grind angles, contours, lines, spheres, etc. on to surfaces.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks under general supervision requiring a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
- Grinds, sands, and polishes the product efficiently and cost-effectively as per department standards.
- Responsible for checking all dimensions per the blueprint.
- Completes the finishing of the product to ensure it meets or exceeds company standards.
- Assists in Assembly as requested by the supervisor.
- Delivers and distributes all finished products to assembly.
- Processes job orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Logs into the shop management computer system for accurate time tracking.
- Responsible for cleaning the area at the end of each shift.
- Assists in shop maintenance including sweeping shop floors, cleaning bathrooms, and emptying trash containers.
- Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to work in varying conditions such as poor lighting, extreme temperatures, dirty, and noisy areas.
- Proficiency in operating hand and power tools, interpreting blueprints, and sketching schematics.
- Ability to work in tight spaces, lift moderately heavy objects, and engage in physical activities like walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Ability to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards.
- Awareness of NSF Standards.
