    Hourly Physician (Rheumatology) | Department of Internal Medicine (SOM)


    Mission or Goal of Unit:

    The Virginia Commonwealth University Health System programs in Rheumatology and in Allergy and Immunology are among the oldest clinical in the USA.

    This unit comprises a combined division with allergy/immunology and rheumatology sections working towards the goal of improving outcomes for patients with autoimmune, musculoskeletal, allergic, mast cell, eosinophil and primary immune deficiency disorders through clinical care, research, and public service,including philanthropy.


    Chief Purpose of this position:

    The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology is seeking a candidate for an hourly position to diagnosis and treat patients with systemic mastocytosis and mast cell activation syndromes, angioedema associated with inherited and acquired forms of C1inh deficiency, and hypereosinophilic syndrome.

    Position

    Responsibilities:


    Primary responsibility will be approximately (1) one clinic per week to provide treatment of patients with systemic mastocytosis and mast cell activation syndromes, angioedema associated with inherited and acquired forms of C1inh deficiency, and hypereosinophilic syndrome.

    Required Qualifications:


    • Must have demonstrated both scholarly and clinical abilities through patient care, teaching and clinical research
    • Board certification in Allergy, Immunology and in Internal Medicine
    • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
