SUMMARY:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are key in the success of operations and compassionate patient care every day. The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the care delivery team. The Licensed Practical Nurse communicates the needs of the patient and the team; collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, takes direction from the RN and delegates appropriately to the other members of the team.
The Orthopedics Surgery Unit at Rochester General Hospital is a 37 bed Acute Surgical Unit which specializes in Orthopedic Surgeries. In addition to joint replacement, 6800 offers the opportunity for LPNs to care for patients who have had: spinal surgery, upper extremity surgery, general surgery, several types of fractures both surgical and non-surgical. The Unit's mission is to provide world class orthopedic service by creating an environment focused on restoring function and optimizing independence, while maintaining the respect, autonomy and individuality of every patient, every encounter, and every day. The Unit is a Center of Excellence for Joint Replacement Surgery.
