- Develops referral and access plans for students.
- Identifies student needs and coordinates training activities for school staff and families.
- Communicates and works closely with the LEA Project Coordinator providing updates and data on a regular basis.
- Attends all workshops, conferences, and meetings as required.
- Collaborates and coordinates with local Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD).
- Assists LEA Coordinator and State Coordinator with site visits and monitoring activities.
- Collaborates with LEA Project Director, LEA Student Services Department, and local mental health providers to develop referral processes and procedures for students requiring services that are more intensive.
- Provides group and family therapy as needed: individual therapy in cases of emergency while coordinating access to on-site or community mental heal services for the student and/or family.
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Certificate or License Required: Georgia certification or professional licensure in a related field.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write professional correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must be proficient in working with salary calculations and must be familiar with state and federal salary laws.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to facilitate the problem-solving process. Ability to synthesize workable options from given facts and assist in the development of workable solutions to address concerns.
- Technical Ability: Must have extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office Products. Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Customer Service Skills: Must be capable of interacting effectively with administrators, teachers, staff members, students, parents, and the general public using tactful and helpful customer service.

Reports To Coordinator of Student Services Date __December 8, 2020
Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the district mission statement. This position enhances the learning process and promotes academic achievement by helping students work through social and emotional problems and by assisting them in working toward their mental well-being. In a collaborative role, this position imparts specific skills and learning opportunities in a productive and preventative manner, which ensures that all students achieve in accordance with the district's mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and/or Experience: Master's Degree in a human services field preferred. Prior experience and competencies working with school-aged mentally ill/chemically dependent youth and families; experience in providing interventions, counseling, individuals or groups of school-aged youth and families.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and lift. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must be able to exert or lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
