    Description
    Hospice of Huntington is looking to hire for a Full-time Cook at Hospice Care Inpatient Unit.
    • 10 hours shifts
    • Rotating weekends
    • Some Holiday work required

    Duties:
    • Prepare and plate food for patients
    • Keep kitchen in a neat, clean and healthy working environment.
    • Receive food and stock, monitor deliveries, place food or stock in the proper areas.
    • Complete daily cleaning and detailed cleaning of kitchens and kitchen equipment.
    • Follow the guidelines set by the Cabell County Health Department.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    • High school graduate or GED preferred.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Previous similar work experience in a health care setting is desirable but not required.
    • Must be able to deal with patients, family members, visitors, public and Hospice staff under varying conditions with a positive and professional attitude.
    • Must possess a current Cabell County Food Handlers Card.
    • Must have reliable transportation.
    • Must be able to read and follow directions and recipes.
    • Must be able to monitor food quality and temperatures to be within the critical control points.
    • Must be able to lift items up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to work with high-temperature foods and equipment.
    • Must work with sharp utensils and equipment.
    • Philosophy must be compatible with the hospice concept
