    Are you skilled at collecting, analyzing, and presenting geographic information system (GIS) data? The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking to hire a Geospatial Analyst to work at our Harrisburg Headquarters.

    Join our team and become an essential part of the System Development Life Cycle. Collaborate closely with the Technical Services and Data Resources divisions in the Bureau of Automated Technology Services (BATS) to lead and coordinate GIS projects at an agency-wide and bureau-focused level.


    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Geospatial Analyst, you will play a key role in providing GIS support to the Pennsylvania Game Commission bureaus, leveraging your strong knowledge of Esri ArcGIS and related software.

    System Development Life Cycle processes in this role encompass spatial data design and engineering, spatial analysis and geoprocessing, creating various data visualizations, generating reports and technical documentation, and more. Collaborate with BATS to assist in designing, developing, and maintaining GIS server architecture and infrastructure, ensuring GIS data and server security and compliance, managing spatial and non-spatial databases, and supporting software applications as needed.

    Work alongside regional Geospatial Specialist 2 staff to lead and coordinate GIS projects at an agency-wide and bureau-focused level. Additionally, provide backup support, technical training, and quality control guidance for GIS and other staff as required.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:
    Full-time position with work hours from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, inclusive of a 45-minute lunch break.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and

    One year as a Geospatial Specialist 2 (commonwealth title); or Two years of technical experience utilizing geospatial programs to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, maintain, and present geospatial data; along with an associate's degree in geographic information systems, geography, geospatial technology, cartography, computer science, natural science, or a related STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), including or supplemented by six (6) credits in geospatial coursework; or An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes or is supplemented by six (6) credits in geospatial coursework.

    Other Requirements:
    You must meet the stipulated qualifications. A minimum of two years of full-time professional experience using ArcGIS Pro is mandatory for this role. Similarly, two or more years of full-time professional experience with ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online are essential. Prior experience of one or more years in developing automated scripts using Python or R for ArcGIS Pro is also a prerequisite. It is imperative to be able to fulfill essential job functions.
