- Facilitate the development of a quality and effective learning environment. Trains students in assigned classes in Continuing Education (CE) programs and/or other industry identified subjects.
- Maintain professional knowledge in applicable subject areas such as professional certifications or other professional credentials and experience identified under "Minimum Knowledge and Experience," researches new trends and advances through professional development activities.
- Identifies, plans, organizes and conducts continuing education training in a variety of ways, including face-to-face, online modules, videos, webinars, facilitated & practical workshops, etc. based on industry needs.
- Manage site-based instructional programs and initiatives.
- Develop and provides students with written course expectations and maintains progressive evaluation methods.
- Maintains accurate records as required by law, Board of Trustees and Administrative Procedures Manual.
- Enforce student policies or monitors enforcement of student policies.
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders and constituents, internal/external to the Dallas College community network in order to respond to evolving economic developments, identify training resources, maintain, order and/or share needed supplies, equipment and classrooms to meet business needs.
- Assist with the scheduling and delivery of classes.
- Prepare students for applicable certification tests. In conjunction with appropriate college personnel and in consultation with program faculty, develop strategies to support student learning in appropriate areas.
- Develop comprehensive course curricula incorporating multiple media and instructional materials for courses and evaluates assessment instruments, revising as needed to support stakeholders and constituents' needs.
- Communicate and express ideas effectively both orally and in writing with individuals from diverse backgrounds utilizing listening and interpretative skills, in order to clearly communicate information, ideas and instructions to individuals within a diverse community network.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Complete required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree or higher. Two (2) years of related work experience will be considered in lieu of associate degree. Some positions may require specific state license/certifications depending on the subject training plus three (3) years of related work experience.
- Official transcripts and current and valid certifications are required. Current and valid driver's license required for offsite travel.
- Work hours may extend beyond the 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, workday.
- This position requires three (3) years of experience as a Machinist or Machine Shop Supervisor in an industrial setting.
- Sound knowledge of precision machining processes and machine tools. Skilled at setting up , running, and providing instruction on manual drill presses, mills, lathes, band saws, and tool grinders as well as multi-axis CNC mills and lathes.
- Skilled at reading and providing instruction on blueprints for machined parts as well as the use of precision measuring equipment and techniques for machined parts inspection.
- Proficient in the use of CAM software and N/C Programming Techniques (G & M Code programming, MasterCAM, GibbsCam, SmartCAM, DelCAM, or similar N/C programming systems.

StaffNOTE: This position will support the Uniquely Abled Academy (UAA) Program - Machining Technology Program located at Eastfield Campus (a program targeted toward the training of level 1, high functioning autism students for positions as production CNC machinists). Additional programs and locations may be assigned as needed. The expected start date for this position is Spring 2024.

Responsible for providing instructional excellence and industry expertise for skill-based courses and certifications, and for working with industry partners to continuously improve program curriculum to meet the changing needs of industry.
