    Job Description Level II

    Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Deputy County Clerk II - Treasury.

    This position is responsible for processing and balancing all daily cash receipts, preparing cash receipt bank deposits, posting all credit and debit transactions to cash journals and providing the Auditor's office with accurate bank account balances as requested.


    In addition, this position will obtain copies of new or amended Collin County Interlocal Agreements with the cities, ISDs and federal agencies and accurately process accounts receivable invoices based on Court Ordered Interlocal Agreement for those that receive Collin County services.

    Must also accurately reconcile Collin County bank accounts and process bank reconciliation reports and outstanding check listings.

    Responsibilities also include accurate distribution of weekly accounts payable checks, juror payment checks, and employee paychecks.

    The successful candidate must demonstrate ability to perform multiple duties simultaneously with high accuracy rate while providing excellent customer service in person and on the phone.

    Requires establishing professional work-relationships with all Collin County departments and Collin County vendors.


    Must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency and at least two years of work experience.

    Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic accounting, operational, technical or office processes.

    Must have the ability to perform account data entry and scanning functions with strong accuracy and attention to detail and have strong customer service skill set.

    Must possess good organizational and communication skills and be able to manage multiple tasks at the same time. Must be able to function with strict deadlines and have a flexible work schedule. Knowledge of advanced Excel is highly preferred. Must have sufficient skill to type at a minimum rate of 50 words per minute.

    Testing Requirements

    This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above.


    • If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again.
    • If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test in order for your application to be complete.
    Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. You do not need an appointment to test, but you will need to bring a government issued photo ID.
