Primarily responsible for assistance in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing processes for manufacturing of night vision components.
A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment.
Have an understanding and skills in effectively applying Six-Sigma tools to benefit the organization and customers. Additionally, the candidate will be versed in Lean tools and their application to reduce waste. This is a hands-on technician position.The individual can expect to spend >90% of their time engaging directly with the factory teams on the shop floor to be most effective.
Responsibilities will include:
Review/ disposition of night vision components
Training of production employees
Leading or participating in projects to: increase yield, increase productivity, reduce waste, improve work processes, and improve product performance quality.
Working with area engineers and manager to optimize yields and throughputParticipating in and promoting Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Associate degree preferably in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or related work experience
2+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques
Strong verbal and written communication skills
PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to work effectively within a team
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience training others
Ability to obtain Security Clearance
Job is 2nd shift – must be able to consistently work 2nd shift.
Preferred Skills
Experience with review/inspection of electrical assemblies
Experience writing MS Access queries
Proficiency with statistical analysis software:
Mintab, JMP, SAS . . .
Six Sigma certification
Conformance Testing to Mil-Stds
Capable of performing process engineering tasks proportionate to their experience.
