    Description

    Job Summary:
    Supervises production line operations and employees to fulfill customer orders. Ensures that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and standards. Maintains smooth production during work shift and promptly resolves all related problems. Works cross-functionally with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Customer Service and Warehouse.

    Essential Functions:
    Manage all aspects of the production process including safety, quality, and production on assigned shift including but limited to:
    Plan and schedule production
    Proper scheduling of employees to meet production requirements
    Conduct weekly health & safety meetings with hourly staff
    Maintain a safe work environment
    Implement and train staff on scanning system
    Monitor production activities
    Troubleshoot blending, batching & packaging issues
    Complete daily pre-op checklist for department
    Complete daily scale check
    Complete daily security checklist
    Complete daily production report
    Monitor GMP's, plant sanitation, and housekeeping
    Monitor machine efficiency
    Monitor equipment maintenance - report to the Maintenance department of any deviations or issues with equipment
    Ensure proper transfer of completed product from production into warehouse locations
    Assist in month-end inventory
    Responsible for employee training and corrective discipline
    Responsible for ensuring all customer requirements are met
    Responsible for ensuring proper inventory procedures are in place
    Responsible for ensuring all company policies are enforced
    Responsible for assisting the department manager with any other tasks as assigned
    Non-Essential Functions
    Performs other activities, special tasks and projects upon requests from managers
    Back up for Production Scheduler
    Back up for Production Manager

    Qualifications:
    High School Diploma or equivalent required
    Excellent communication skills
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Must have good math skills
    Computer proficiency
    Highly organized
    Expertise in production operation - able to organize, troubleshoot, implement, train, and administer production, safety & quality principles
    Demonstrates resilience and adaptability when faced with increased workload and demanding deadlines during peak times
    Previous supervisory experience
    Must be able to consistently lift up to 80 lbs
    Able to work 12-hour shifts
    Able to work weekends
    Bi-lingual (Spa) preferred

    Work Environment:
    Walking and standing on concrete for 8 to 12 hours a day, up to 6 days a week. Climbing steps, ladders and working on elevated surfaces.
    Regularly lifting 50 to 100 lbs
    Experiences of high volume and a fast-paced work environment during peak season
    Exposure to loud environment, airborne particles with stronger odors associated with spicy food ingredients and cold, hot, wet and humid conditions
    The job is performed in all areas of the facility where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and at times will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery
