    Description

    Our Columbus, Ohio client has a contract opportunity for a ProjectEngineer who will be responsible for executing complex engineering tasks and projects, applying engineering expertise to achieve assigned objectives safely, effectively, efficiently, and economically.

    • Hybrid- Tues, Wed, Thurs in office at 1RP.
    Job Description:
    • As a Project Engineer role, the candidate will manage engineering activities of multiple complex projects.
    • Project types include solar and wind electric generating facilities, environmental retrofit to existing coal power plants, building new Combustion Turbine (CT).
    • 3rd party Engineering firms and OEM will be responsible for the design.
    • Prospective engineer will be the client Engineering Lead for assigned projects and will be responsible to manage all aspects of engineering activities.
    • The Engineer will coordinate with different Engineering disciplines within client to ensure proper engineering oversight.
    Principal Accountabilities:
    • Coordinate the overall engineering activities between client, Developer, Architect Engineer (A/E), and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for Generation capital projects.
    • Ensure production of engineering deliverables are completed on schedule.
    • Ensure that the design meets stakeholder expectations, and the constraints are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Provide engineering progress updates to the project team and stakeholders.
    • Lead complex engineering discussions that require the input and efforts of a wide array of entities both internal and external to client.
    • Ability to identify, clarify, and resolves complex technical problems that require multi-disciplined analytical techniques.
    • Help to drive to conclusion where differences of opinion are likely to exist.
    • Ability to present complex technical subjects, clearly, concisely, and persuasively, bringing in ancillary issues before senior management.
    • Builds teams and networks that extend through client, and other companies
    • Possesses the experience and knowledge to make technical decisions based on calculated risks.
    • Understands how strategies and decisions impact the relationship with our customers and suppliers.
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Has typically acquired 6 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or 4 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*; Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is encouraged and preferred.
    • *ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1. a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2. a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
    • ** Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.
