    Job Description

    The Department Supervisor plays a vital role in achieving Sales and Profit goals by delivering exceptional Customer Experience in the department and overall store. This position operates within legal requirements, H&M standards, policies, and procedures to meet customer and colleague expectations.

    This role reports to the Department Manager or Store Manager (based on volume) and has direct responsibility for dotted-line Sales Advisors.

    Sales and Profit Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the store management team to ensure seamless operations, H&M standards, and best practices are upheld through effective scheduling and commercial activities that maximize conversion and customer service.
    • Maintain H&M Customer Service standards by actively coaching and leading by example.
    • Ensure cost-efficient maintenance of the sales floor, adhering to H&M standards, and initiate actions accordingly with the store management team.
    • Perform all store routines, including opening and closing procedures, following Company guidelines.
    • Process trucks and follow up to ensure execution according to guidelines.
    • Prevent loss and ensure adherence to safety and security guidelines.
    • Identify opportunities to boost customer satisfaction and sales with the Department Manager and execute changes accordingly.

    People and Teams Responsibilities:

    • Communicate clearly with the Store team on business performance, company culture, and training focuses through daily Behind the Seams Meetings and participating in leadership meetings.
    • Assume overall store responsibility in the absence of the Store Manager or Department Manager when opening or closing the store.
    • Utilize timekeeping and scheduling systems as part of opening/closing routines.
    • Develop other supervisors and complete projects on an as-needed basis for their growth and development.
    • Act as a note taker for staff interviews when required.
    • Serve as a management witness, representing H&M, in employee discussions as needed.
    • Address any employee issues promptly and bring them to the attention of the management team.
    • Support the management team in overseeing staff workflow within the store.
    • Assist in the training and development of Sales Advisors on operational aspects of the business by setting clear goals and providing timely feedback.
    • Maintain health & safety, legal, and security standards to protect employees and customers at all times.
    • Promote our Company Culture by encouraging feedback in daily work and coaching colleagues to do the same.
