    Repair & Maintenance Technician (Commercial Buildings)

    About the Job:

    The repair and maintenance technician performs various building maintenance and facilities support functions such as cleaning and/or repairing building fixtures and equipment, graffiti removal, signage repair or replacement, lighting maintenance, etc.

    Schedule: Thursday & Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (16 hours) | Saturday and Sundays will work on company events, doing set-up and tear-down - some additional days of the week will be available for events.

    Main Duties:
    • Conduct routine maintenance checks.
    • Apply preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
    • Inspect property regularly for graffiti, and remove it from surfaces, ensuring the restoration of affected areas to match the existing aesthetics.
    • Repair or replace signage around premises and parking area, including stop signs and other regulatory indicators.
    • Inspect the exterior of buildings for paint damage, repair surfaces to match existing color, and include touch-up painting for curbs, bollards, and other structures as needed.
    • Identify and assess concrete damage on walkways, curbs, or other paved surfaces and perform necessary repairs, such as filling cracks or repairing damaged areas.
    • Address miscellaneous repairs as needed, including but not limited to light fixtures, bulbs, benches, etc.
    • Maintain maintenance records and provide regular reports to supervisor.

    Event Assistant:
    • Pick up event items and transport them to venues.
    • Collaborate with event planners to understand the set-up requirements for each event.
    • Ensure all necessary equipment, materials and supplies are available and in good condition.
    • Execute physical set-up of event spaces, including tent, tables, chairs, etc.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and venue staff to address any issues or set-up modifications.
    • At the end of the event, remove items from the venue and return them to the office.

    Required Skills & Experience:
    • General Maintenance skills such as basic electrical, painting, repair, etc.
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues.
    • Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move, and handle tools and equipment.
    • Organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Be able to take directions and follow instructions.

    Physical Demands and Requirements:

    Must be able to successfully pass-pre-employment drug screen and physical. Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Stand for long periods. Bend or twist the body, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on the time of year. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, walking, or climbing ladders.

    Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
