Summary/Objective: Assist equipment operators and other crew members with a variety of manual labor-related tasks including the set up and dismantling of construction sites, digging & excavating, pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintaining an orderly and safe job site.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Typical construction hours required, with some weeks being less than 40 hours and other weeks requiring 50+ hours; must be willing to work flexible hours including occasional nights and weekends

Travel: 25% or less as needed or as requested by employee

Work Environment: Must be able to work in all weather conditions and noisy environments

Physical Demands:

• Standing for long periods of time

• Lifting heavy loads up to 50 pounds

• Must be able to work hour days including some weekends when needed

• Be able to wear all required PPE

• Be able to climb ladders and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights

Essential Functions:

• Operate and care for construction equipment and machines

• Assist with proper disposal of debris and waste materials

• Help equipment operator if necessary

• Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards

• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks

• Load and unload construction materials

• Comply with all DOT, EPA and OSHA regulations

• Put together and take apart temporary structures

• Ready to learn from on-the-job training and willing to learn and use emerging technologies

• Perform site clean up

Requirements:

• Familiarity with power tools and machinery

• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen

• Must be 18 years or older

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Apprenticeship or specialization

• Underground utility and/or construction experience
