    Description

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in healthcare environments to oversee facilities and construction-related projects in Lexington, Kentucky. This role is responsible for managing projects from concept through completion, ensuring delivery aligns with healthcare operational requirements, regulatory standards, and financial objectives.

    The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing projects within hospitals, medical centers, or clinical facilities and a strong understanding of healthcare compliance and infrastructure standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Leadership & Delivery

    • Lead all phases of the project lifecycle including planning, design coordination, procurement, execution, and closeout.
    • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within approved budgets.
    • Develop detailed project schedules, cost plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Manage contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure high-quality delivery.

    Healthcare Environment Management

    • Oversee projects within active healthcare settings, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care and clinical operations.
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements, infection control protocols (ICRA), and life safety standards.
    • Coordinate shutdowns, phasing plans, and safety measures in collaboration with clinical leadership.

    Technical Oversight

    • Manage infrastructure upgrades, renovations, capital improvements, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems projects.
    • Ensure adherence to healthcare building codes and accreditation standards.
    • Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

    Financial & Contract Management

    • Monitor project budgets, forecasting, billing, and cost controls.
    • Manage change orders, procurement processes, and contract administration.
    • Provide accurate financial reporting and performance updates to leadership.

    Risk & Compliance

    • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
    • Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and healthcare safety requirements.
    • Lead regular project review meetings and maintain comprehensive documentation.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate with hospital administrators, facilities teams, clinical staff, and external partners.
    • Communicate project status, timelines, and potential impacts clearly to all stakeholders.
    • Foster strong cross-functional relationships to ensure successful project outcomes.

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience within healthcare environments (hospital, medical center, or clinical settings).
    • Proven experience managing construction, renovation, or facilities capital projects.
    • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, life safety codes, and infection control standards.
    • Experience working in occupied, operational healthcare facilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field required.

    Preferred / Advantageous

    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
    • Experience with healthcare accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission compliance).
    • Engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with healthcare facility master planning initiatives.
