    This role is a direct-hire role for a CAMS Staffing Solutions client. The employee will work directly for CAMS's client and will report to the Managing Director to lead the establishment and ongoing oversight of monthly accounting and reporting processes to further support strategic initiatives that involve the growing business segment. This role will independently oversee accounting and all associated internal and external reporting (e.g., establishment of processes, overseeing monthly accounting, and reporting for consolidation purposes), as well as the applicable internal controls. The role has no direct reports.

    The person in this role is recognized as a subject matter expert in the work area. Manages large projects or processes, policies, and standards under limited supervision. Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to junior employees, if applicable. Problems faced may be difficult and often complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and transparency; upholds client's standards, values, and culture.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Typical job responsibilities of the Accounting Manager - Power include:
    • Establish and document efficient monthly close and consolidation processes. Design and implement internal controls around such processes.
    • Manage outsourced book-keeping team.
    • Manage external experts on technical accounting issues.
    • Review monthly financial results for completeness and accuracy.
    • Report monthly financial results to client and key stakeholders.
    • Provide information to client and key stakeholders for review of operations and for budgeting purposes,
    • Perform other duties as required.
    Requirements

    REQUIRED SKILLS
    • Must have Power Generation Experience
    • Hedge and/or derivative experience.
    • Deep knowledge in power and utilities accounting issues.
    • Strong research skills and understanding of IFRS vs GAAP necessary.
    • Strong management and analytical skills necessary. Leadership skills include an advanced ability to work cross-departmentally, develop others and influence the organization to achieve results.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and appreciation for cultural differences.
    • Proven record in project management and leveraging technology to create efficiency and automation.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses an understanding of digital concepts to create basic digital tools.
    • ERCOT Retail Experience a Plus

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant areas.
    • Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
    • This position is remote but a strong preference for Texas residents is preferred as the Plant is in Texas and does require occasional travel.
    • Occasional travel may be required and would be on an as-needed basis. Currently estimated at less than 10%.
