    Description

    The Quality Engineer works within the facility and is the point of contact for quality issues in assigned areas. May lead a team of inspectors to proactively improve the processes through APQP and PFMEA projects, assisting in process improvements as Regal Rexnord advances in its lean journey. This role will spend significant time on the manufacturing floor.

    Responsibilities

    • Review parts and material for conformance. Ability to understand engineering drawing / GD&T attributes.
    • Write and process quality notifications with assistance from engineering and quality technicians
    • Assist in 3rd party and internal audits to administer ISO 9001:2015 quality system
    • Serves as liaison between engineering, purchasing and manufacturing
    • Collect, record and analyze statistical data, prepare control plans and other quality documentation.
    • Interface with suppliers and determine root cause and follow up with suppliers on corrective actions
    • Receive and review all returned products for disposition and process using ERP system.
    • Provide support to engineering, manufacturing and purchasing initiatives
    • Support operations to resolve inspection issues to allow product movement in a timely manner.
    • Train production and QC staff.
    • Lead and champion continuous improvement by engaging with manufacturing operation personnel, utilizing lean manufacturing, Six-Sigma and other continuous improvement tools

    Qualifications

    • BS in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
    • Experience in machining practices and inspection techniques using manual tools.
    • Knowledge in CMM equipment and techniques.
    • Training and experience with management type and problem-solving techniques such as Statistical Quality Control/Statistical Process Control preferred
    • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio)
    • Project management and leadership abilities desired.
    • Desired experience with ISO QMS, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, and PPAP.
    • Certified ISO 9001:2015 auditor (CQA) is preferred.
    • Six Sigma certification is preferred.
    • Experience with SAP is a plus.
