Job summary
Under the supervision of the System Director, Pharmacy Clinical Services and according to standard procedures, provides clinical pharmaceutical care; coordinates pharmaceutical care with health care providers, practitioners, and educators to ensure continuity of services and to achieve desired patient outcomes through safe, timely, cost—effective medication therapy;
optimizes medication use through drug order review,
therapeutic drug monitoring,
participation in high-risk emergencies including resuscitation;
supervises support personnel in all work areas assigned;
precepts pharmacy residents and pharmacy students;
takes part in clinical research protocols
- Fluent in the use of drug information resources
- Ability to evaluate primary medical literature and develop evidence-based recommendations
- Ability to perform Medication Use Evaluations (MUE) and submit recommendations for system-wide changes
