Prioritize and oversee workload of the dispatch staff
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Trucking Dispatch Supervisor-Transportation to lead our freight coordination and fleet management efforts. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily dispatch operations, ensure timely and efficient delivery of shipments, and coordinate with drivers, carriers, and clients to maintain seamless transportation workflows. Your expertise will drive operational excellence, optimize routes, and enhance overall supply chain performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment where proactive problem-solving and strong communication are key to success.
- Schedule:
- Troy Terminal Wednesday thru Saturday
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly corresponds to customers
- Confirms dispatch staff has completed assigned tasks before the end of shift and provides turnover to next shift detailing key issues.
- Communicates and shares information/schedules with all Point Dedicated Terminals
- Directly communicate with dispatch staff to ensure all loads are entered in the TMS system, assigned, and covered.
- Communicates SOP's to dispatch staff making sure staff is training on policies and procedures and following accordingly.
- Responsible for daily yard check to verify and reconcile equipment in the TMS system.
- Monitor and analyze customer/industry bid boards.
- Communicates with drivers as needed
- Resolves disputes arising with customers, drivers, dispatch staff.
- Training new and existing employees on TMS system
Supervisor responsibilities:
- Dispatchers report directly to this position
- Responsible for optimal shift staffing and scheduling
- Responsible for employee performance reviews
- Responsible for administering employee counseling and training
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with 2-5yr of transportation/logistics experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 year of relevant transportation/Logistics industry experience
- 3-5 yeas previous supervisory experience
- McLeod TMS experience
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations
Skills Required:
- Strong/Proven analytical decision making skills
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on conflicts at the individual group, or situation level
- Ability to adapt to changing environments
Pay: $60, $75,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
