    The PositionArkatechture is seeking candidates for a Business Data Analyst position to support Business Intelligence and Data warehousing initiatives focused on our Financial Services clients.

    As a Business Data Analyst, responsibilities include data analysis, data profiling, data mapping, and developing SQL views.

    This role requires proficiency in interpreting data, trends, patterns in complex data sets, technical expertise with data models, databases and reporting tools like Tableau or PowerBI.

    The ability to interpret and use artifacts like business requirement documents, system requirements documents, critical data element identification and classification, requirement traceability matrix, workflows, data mapping, etc.

    is required.

    The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently with the business and the technology teams collaborating with the project/program managers.

    This position has the opportunity to be 100% remote if desired. Key ResponsibilitiesExpert level professional role, considered subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge/expertise in Financial Services with experience in AML preferredAdvanced analytical and problem solving skillsFluent in one or two programming languagesWorks autonomously on a range of tasks and may be relied upon to coach/educate othersMay lead end-to-end processes or functional programsIn-depth experience working with very large datasets and familiarity with big data technologiesSupports business teams in the use and understanding of the data and reporting solutionsDevelops data road map/information management strategies and corresponding technical solutions on integrating, transforming, and/or managing dataDrives data-centric solution development focusing on complex data integrationSolicits, analyzes, and understands data requirements (i.e., using market research, requirements gathering, feature planning, user experience / design considerations, etc.) to enable development of information management solutionsManaging client interactions and growing client relationship during projectsDevelop Source to Target MappingsData Profiling, analyzing source system data and metadata and collect requirements for data ingestion into a data warehouseDeveloping and deconstructing complex SQL, Common Table Expressions, Stored Procedures, and Views for Business Conformance layersData Cleansing, Data Quality assessments and developing data quality rulesImplementing data warehouses, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize business intelligence and analytical efficiency and qualityBuilding reference data for hierarchies, lookups and grouping purposesAcquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and developing and maintaining Data Dictionaries, Critical Data Identification and Classification, Data Lineage, and Data Quality rulesIdentify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data setsFilter and "clean" data by reviewing reports and key performance indicators to locate and correct code problemsTesting using SQL and providing development sign offMentoring & review SQL code and deliverables of junior & mid-level Data AnalystsLocate and define new process improvement opportunitiesDocumentation of processes and workflowsAdditional responsibilities as assignedSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a relevant field or 2-5 years of experience in a similar roleExpert in complex SQL syntaxDomain expertise in Financial Services working with Banks and/or Credit Unions, preferably focused on full credit lifecycle for Commercial and/or Consumer lending and/or AMLEnthusiastic, learner and driven with a positive attitudeStrong critical and analytical thinking and problem solving skillsExperience working on multiple databases such as Snowflake, SQL Server, Databricks, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etcA strong understanding of Agile software development life cycle and methodologyExperience working on Data Management projects for Data Lakes/Data WarehousingExperience driving and growing client interaction as part of sales support and project deliveryAnalytical and problem-solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusionsSkill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniquesAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written formAbility to work collaboratively and build relationshipsAbility to work successfully as a member of a team and independentlyAbility to exercise sound judgement in making decisionsAbility to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlinesAbility to handle confidential information with discretionPreferred Experience2+ years as a Subject Matter Expert in Financial Services, especially Commercial and/or Consumer lending and/or AMLUnderstanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCPExperience developing and implementing dbt models
