    Logistics Coordinator

    General Summary
    This position is responsible for leading, delegating, and coordinating the operations of departments within the traffic department.

    This includes ensuring and improving safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and positive employee relations using the principles of PVPC, and other strategies outlined by the company.

    This position manages the daily workload within the traffic office when the Supervisor is out of the office.
    Essential Job Functions
    Assists and supports the Traffic Supervisor by monitoring, organizing, and prioritizing LTL/FTL shipments.
    Uses customers' web-based TMS system to route orders.
    Contact carriers via phone or email to set up pick-up appointments.
    Ensures that work priorities for employees under his/her direction are completed.
    Prepare and maintain shipping records and file them for future use.
    Motivate, organize encourage teamwork within the workforce to make sure all targets are met.
    Interacts with other departments to ensure shipping and driver information is accurate.
    Observe and adhere to safety policies, report unsafe acts, and hazards, and maintain a clean orderly department.
    Support and demonstrate all company policies including code of conduct, ethical behavior, and OSHA compliance.
    Motivate, organize encourage teamwork within the workforce to make sure all targets are met.
    Interacts with other departments to ensure shipping and driver information is accurate.
    Work as the middleman between management and workers to facilitate good communication.
    Step in to resolve conflicts that may arise between workers on site and exhibit a good sense of judgment.
    Assists in determining training needs.
    Performs other duties as required by management.
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    Basic knowledge of LTL/FTL/Small Parcel shipping processes is a must.
    Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written including phone & email.
    Good leadership and team skills to be able to work with others.
    Ability to multitask.
    Good knowledge of record keeping.
    Ability to read and write in the English Language
    Intermediate level computer skills - Microsoft Office, Reflections, ARPs, SAP preferred
    Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends, when necessary.

    Education & Experience:
    Completion of High School Diploma or GED
    1-2 years of working in an office environment
    Working knowledge of warehouse operations and functions.
    Physical Demands
    Vision correctable to 20/20
    Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
    Sitting 75% of the time
    Pushing, pulling, bending, walking

    Safilo/Smith is a warehouse environment where exposure to dust, dirt, heat, cold, and noise occurs. This warehouse is not climate-controlled.
