    About:

    A major law firm in Kansas City is seeking to onboard a Senior Counsel Litigation Attorney to handle a wide range of general litigation matters, including product liability, personal injury, class actions, mass torts, and other complex litigation cases. This is a hybrid role. This is a non-partnership track position.

    The firm has 19 offices across the US and UK and has gained accolades from Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and BTI Consulting Group.

    Experience:

    • Attorneys must have 7+ years of litigation experience, specifically defending all aspects of personal injury and property damage cases.
    • Attorneys must have strong project management skills, excellent attention to detail, and has the ability to supervise junior associates.
    • The candidate is expected to have significant courtroom or arbitration experience and will have conducted discovery, drafted substantive dispositive motions, have substantial deposition experience, and at least some trial or evidentiary hearing experience.
    • The billable hour requirement is 1, hours of pro bono and 50 hours of D&I).

    Responsibilities:

    • The attorney will handle all aspects of defending a case, including taking and defending depositions, attending court hearings, drafting and arguing motions, and assisting significantly at trial.
    • The candidate will manage and play a significant role in handling a caseload of 30-40 cases.
    • To effectively communicate with clients and supervise case team members.
    • The team represents various industries including manufacturers of automobiles, consumer goods, food and beverages, pet care and animal health products, pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
    • The practice handles complex and contentious product liability cases, from MDLs, class actions, mass actions and multi-jurisdiction onslaughts of individual cases, to challenging individual cases.
