    MUST HAVE:
    5+ Years of experience in Instrumentation & Control in a chemical process industry

    Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent

    Experience inspecting, maintaining and specifying control, instrumentation systems and equipment

    Ability to read and understand P&IDs, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical manuals

    Key Responsibilities and Duties

    • Supports instrumentation / CEMS / automation equipment at all levels, including training, analysis, and documentation of associated computer automation systems (PLC or DCS). Also supports continuous improvement efforts, daily operations, and capital projects using an applied technical knowledge of the manufacturing processes, instrumentation, and computer automation equipment.
    • Work with the Maintenance, Technical and Operations Managers to establish, track, and achieve equipment reliability goals and objectives for the facility.
    • Provide daily technical support to craftsmen, supervisors, and other engineers to resolve equipment design, maintenance, and operating issues for immediate and long-term solutions.
    • Support Maintenance and Operations departments to maximize plant uptime, including after-hours support if needed. Provide field supervision support on critical equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and recommend solutions to recurring instrumentation problems on critical equipment.
    • Troubleshoot logic diagrams.
    • Work with appropriate personnel and plant systems to ensure plans, schematics and diagrams are maintained accurate and up to date.
    • Document and update loop drawings, interlocks, and data sheets.
    • Review and update required instrument PM & Calibration procedures.
    • Lead root cause failure investigations for instrument/control related incidents.
    • Assist in planning and execution of turnaround activities and provide technical input in determining priority and scope of equipment repairs.
    • Perform/Assist in the programming of additions and changes for PLC/DCS systems.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining plant engineering / safety standards.
    • Review engineering projects to ensure compliance with plant standards, and other applicable industry standards.
    • Complete engineering design and documentation for small plant improvement and modification projects.
    • Retrieve and evaluate process & environmental data.
    • Participate in safety and environmental initiatives to ensure overall employee safety and regulatory compliance.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Education and Experience

    • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
    • 5+ years of experience in Instrumentation & Control in a chemical process industry.
    • Experience inspecting, maintaining, and specifying control, SIS, and instrumentation systems and equipment.
    • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management and a good understanding of general process control preferred.
    • Project & Budget management experience preferred.
    • 21+ years of age
    • This is a safety sensitive position which requires employees to disclose the use of any prescription medication that may affect his or her ability to safely perform the essential functions of this position.
    Skills and Knowledge

    • Knowledgeable in the theory and workings of instrumentation – control valve assembly, level, flow, pressure, temperature, pH, conductivity and gas analyzers.
    • Exceptional instrumentation and control logic troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
    • Experienced with smart instrumentation, pneumatics and hydraulics.
    • DCS, PLC, HMI, Historian, database programming and management.
    • Reliability and defect elimination skills.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Training and experience in RCFA, RCM or equivalent methodology.
    • Strong computer skill – CMMS, database management, analysis software, etc.
    • Basic understanding of compressor control systems.
    • Experience with Emerson Delta V and Rockwell Software products.
    • Foundation Fieldbus experience.
    Our client operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This position will be exposed to all elements of the weather on the plant site.
