    Job Summary

    Drexel University's Facilities Management Department has an opening for a Commercial Driver position to provide transportation services on and between campuses.

    Essential Functions
    • Operate passenger vehicles including 7-48 passenger vans and buses to transport passengers to various locations.
    • Operate maintenance equipment such as snowplow, truck, and forklift.
    • Inspect vehicles prior to use for fluids and all other safety requirements.
    • Maintain record log.
    • Drive, pick up and deliver materials, equipment, and other items.
    • Perform custodial duties as required in the garage and to maintain clean vehicles.
    • Assist grounds crew with snow removal.
    • Operate all equipment in a safe and courteous manner, complying with all traffic laws.
    • Cooperate with coworkers and treat them with respect.
    • Demonstrable ability to lift 25-50 pounds.
    • Provide service in a professional, courteous and pleasant manner.
    • Other duties as assigned
    Required Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 1 year of experience
    • Valid Drivers License and a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required
    • The incumbent is subject to and must comply with all laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, US Department of Transportation, and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, which includes controlled substances and alcohol testing, and medical examinations for Commercial Driver fitness.
    • Must maintain compliance with the Drexel University Motor Vehicle Operators Policy.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Class "B" / "P" Passenger Endorsement / Air Brake Restrictions Lifted.

    This position is classified as Non-Exempt with a unionized pay rate of $24.20 per hour.
