Lead Installation Travel Technician – TEKsystems (100% Travel)Preferred Home Base:
Nashville, TN (Open to candidates nationwide)
TEKsystems is actively seeking experienced Lead Installation Travel Technicians to support commercial low‑voltage and security installation projects across the country.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who can manage small teams, perform high‑quality installations, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specification.
Position Overview
As a Lead Installation Technician, you will oversee on‑site installations ranging from conduit and cabling to complex security and low‑voltage systems.
You will lead a crew of 1–3 technicians , providing direction, technical support, and quality checks to ensure all work aligns with project standards.
This position offers significant overtime opportunities and long‑term career potential, with the expectation of transitioning to a permanent role after the contract period.
Lead and supervise day‑to‑day activities for 1–3 technicians on job sites.
Install, terminate, and test:
Cat6 cabling
Security cameras
Access control hardware
Fire alarm components
Structured cabling systems (Cat6, fiber, coax, etc.)
Build and install cable pathways and infrastructure to code.
Interpret and work from blueprints, construction drawings, and schematics.
Mount and install:
Access points
Cameras
Access control panels
Fire alarm devices
Server racks & related equipment
Ensure compliance with NEC/low‑voltage codes and safety standards.
Perform final testing, labeling, and documentation of all cabling and system installations.
Collaborate with project managers, customers, and onsite trades.

Qualifications
Proven experience in low‑voltage or security installation.
Ability to lead and direct small teams.
Strong blueprint reading skills.
Understanding of NEC/low‑voltage codes.
Ability to work independently and problem‑solve in real time.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Must be reliable, self‑motivated, and able to stay on task without supervision.
Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
Desire to move into a permanent role after contract completion.
Experience Level
Intermediate-Level Technician with leadership experience preferred

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $ $30.00/hr.
