    Summary

    The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of a group of employees. Represents department, internally and externally. Accurately follows all applicable federal, state and local guidelines for the processing of patient information. Coding Supervisor maintains a demeanor and appearance appropriate for representation. Exemplifies the Client's mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Client's policies and procedures.

    High School Diploma required.

    RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS Certification required

    At least 3 years coding experience in a hospital or surgery center-based setting and with various specialties

    Thorough knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding principles required.

    Excellent communication, organizational and management/teambuilding skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

    Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly gain proficiency and command of new hospital information systems.

    Ability to analyze and implement new systems and procedures. Ability to work effectively with staff and management.

    Preferred Job Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

    Five years is preferred.

    Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
