    Acting as aninternal consultant, the Human Resources Director provides advice andassistance to the campus community.

    They serve as a liaison between thedistrict and the college on HR related matters; serve as a contributingmember of the district wide HR directors council and contributes to thedevelopment of system wide initiatives.

    Using accepted human resources techniques, knowledge of a variety ofpersonnel practices and problems, and exercising professional judgement,the HR Director is a hands-on leader who exercises judgment, iscollaborative, empathetic, thrives in an active and fast-pacedenvironment and who is comfortable with a diverse population ofadministrators, faculty, staff, students, and the public.

    The Human Resources Director works collaboratively with our sistercolleges, the District Human Resources Office, and CGC Business Serviceson implementing processes and projects in support of MCCCD and CGCCsmission and vision.[]{#HRS SCH PSTDSC_DESCRLONG$6}[Essential Functions]{#HRS SCH WRK_DESCR100$7lbl} 25%
    • Working closely with the Lead Recruiter, oversees the recruitmentprocess, providing guidance on the process, options, sourcing, andopportunities for recruitment for fulltime staff, faculty andadministrative, adjunct faculty and part time temporary positions.
    Serves as technical advisor to hiring managers and executives on therecruitment process.

    Manages the employee evaluation process; processespersonnel transactions such as reassignments, transfers and separations;oversees processing of employee compensation; advises collegedepartments on transaction processes.

    Works collaboratively with CollegeBusiness Services on position management and reporting.25%
    • Manages the college human resources office supervising employeesincluding prioritizing and assigning work and managing the departmentbudget; serves as advisor to college leadership and employees to ensurecompliance with applicable district policies, procedures, and state andfederal laws and regulations related to all aspects of human resourceincluding hiring, compensation and benefits; serves as liaison betweendistrict and college on HR related matters, serves as contributingmember of district wide HR directors council, co chairs the collegeEmployee Development Committee, and contributes to development of systemwide initiatives15%
    • Evaluates human resource processing operations and activities andrecommends improvements; plans and coordinates implementation ofelectronic human resource system functionality including training forand on going assistance to users and assures compliance with systemrequirements15%
    • Analyzes complex, technical and confidential issues, drawingconclusions and taking appropriate action by applying appropriatepolicies, procedures and resources; provides advice and information onhuman resources issues, policies and procedures, including employeebenefits and employee relations10%
    • Plans and coordinates employee development programs and activitiesincluding new employee orientation, district required training,supervisory training, employee events, and development activitiesrelated to college initiatives.
