    Job Overview

    The Sr Application Support Engineer is responsible for supporting foreign currency trade flow from front to end.

    This includes advanced monitoring, supporting, troubleshooting, implementing fixes, upgrading, patching, releases, and documenting in relation to the critical applications and their corresponding interfaces across the Bank.

    The Sr App Support Engineer will also interact with vendors, stakeholders, and resources from different departments to build and maintain integrations, support, escalate and troubleshoot the issues.

    Job Description

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Install, maintain, and monitor Client Service Applications (Windows/Virtual Machines).

    Partner with IT and business stakeholders to manage expectations, the intake and resolution of issues, requests, and changes through the Service Now ticketing system.

    Proactively facilitate incidents, lead root cause discovery efforts and log and debug files as it relates to applications and its usage.

    Mentor Application Support Specialist on best practices and support related items.
    Support Valley systems running in our datacenters and cloud.

    Ensure that the VNB applications are maintained in a manner that supports delivery of services to the VNB platforms, resilience, and uptime performance statistics.

    Perform quality assurance testing of new application software releases and patches in the application test environment prior to its production release.

    Partner with product vendors in the support of systems both SAAS and those hosted on-prem.
    Provide capacity planning, monitoring, and maintenance of designated application system(s), while identifying trends or problems on monthly summary report.
    Lead continuous service Improvement efforts to improve the team's service levels.
    Maintain application system documentation to include system reviews, runbooks, knowledge documents, changes, audits, and future application improvement recommendations.
    Other duties assigned.

    Requirements


    Required Skills:
    Advanced knowledge supporting applications in a hosted and\or cloud-based environments.
    Ability to manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor performance. Exceptional ability to provide front-end support to internal departments and web-based clients. Advanced proficiency in determining the causes of application errors and repairing them.

    Solid proficiency in FIX protocol and STP in accounting systems and Spots, Forwards, Options, NDF's, Wire's and CLS (Continuous Linked Settlement).

    Effectively and regularly communicates regarding matters that are critical to the team. Explains complex concepts clearly, using styles appropriate for the audience. Solid documentation skills to ensure Application support runbooks are updated with relevant information.
    Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities and ensure execution within required timelines.
    The ability to analyze systems and processes for opportunities to gain efficiency. Ability to solve problems at root cause rather than at symptom level.
    Solid understanding and working knowledge or Front to Back Core Banking applications (ex. Savings, Deposit, Loans, and downstream apps). Advanced integration fundamentals, including API, file based, SQL. Proficient knowledge of FIS, IBS, Loans, and document management systems. Understanding of network architecture and interacting with Infrastructure teams.


    Required Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field.
    Minimum of five years related technical application support, primarily in banking and/or financial services.


    Preferred Experience:
    Master's degree in a related field and banking background within the IT services department.
    Knowledge of interest rates swaps flows.

    Pay Range Information

    Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

    Salary Grade Minimum - Annual

    $94,000.00

    Salary Grade Maximum - Annual

    $164,400.00

    Salary Grade Minimum - Hourly

    $45.19

    Salary Grade Maximum - Hourly
