- Work collaboratively and maintain regular communication with school and vocational rehabilitation personnel to support pre-employment transition services during the summer.
- Provide complex direct services and individualized instruction and support for youth with disabilities, ages 14 to 22, at community businesses using extensive knowledge of specialized needs.
- Collect data and success stories, create summer work based learning resumes, and summarize performance.
- Develop business relationships, arrange logistics for summer work, communicate with employers, and obtain satisfaction evaluations.
- Engage families, keep them informed of work activities, provide weekly updates, and respond to questions and concerns. Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. The Vocational Specialist is responsible for implementing pre-employment transition services for students with disabilities enrolled in the summer work program.
